THE PURPLE MIRROR
In a small town there was an old store that sold odd things. One day, a little girl named Emma visited the store. She loved collecting unique items and the store was full of them.
As she was walking through the store, her eye was caught by a beautiful mirror. Its frame was carved from dark wood, but what made it special was the glass – it wasn't clear like a regular mirror. It glowed purple, as if it held a secret.
“How much is this mirror?” Emma asked the shopkeeper.
The old man behind the counter frowned. “It's not for sale,” he said firmly.
“Please,” Emma pleaded. "He's so beautiful!"
The man hesitated. Then he said, "Okay, but listen carefully. This mirror is cursed. Never look in it after midnight."
Emma laughed. "Cursed? This is just a story to scare people," she said, and paid for the mirror and took it home.
First night
Emma hung the purple mirror in her bedroom. She admired how it shone in the light. That night, she went to sleep, but woke up in the middle of the night.
She had a strange feeling, like something was pulling her towards the mirror. She rose to her feet and stood in front of it. Her reflection looked back at her, but something was wrong.
The reflection smiled, but Emma didn't.
Her heart was pounding. She rubbed her eyes and told herself it was her imagination. When she looked again, she was still smiling.
Suddenly, the reflex moved on its own, waving at her. Emma screamed and ran to turn on the light. When she looked again, the reflex was normal.
"It's just a bad dream," she said to herself and went back to bed.
Warning
The next day, Emma told her best friend, Sarah, about the mirror.
"You should throw it away," Sarah said.
"No," Emma replied. "It's just my imagination."
But deep down, Emma wasn't sure.
That night, Emma was awake, gazing into the mirror. She wanted to prove to herself that it wasn't a ghost. But as the clock struck midnight, the glass in the mirror began to ripple like water.
Her image appeared from the mirror.
She was gone. It looked like her, but its eyes were dark and its smile was sharp and evil.
"I'm free now," the reflection said in a cold voice.
Emma couldn't move. She was frozen with fear.
trapped
The creature walked towards Emma, but instead of attacking her, it pointed at the mirror. Emma turned and cried out.
Her own face was reflected in the mirror. She was trapped.
"No! Let me out!" she cried, banging on the glass from inside.
The creature outside laughed. "I've been waiting for someone like you for years," he said. Then he took a cloth and covered the mirror. Everything went dark for Emma.
Years later
The stranger returned the mirror, saying it was "cursed," so the shopkeeper took it back. He placed it at the back of the store, warning people not to touch it.
But occasionally, people passing by the shop late at night say they hear a knock and a girl's voice crying out, "Help...let me out."
The purple mirror still glitters in the darkness, waiting for its next victim.
